Adult Tooth Loss Solutions

Today we want to talk about a tough subject: adult tooth loss. Once you are missing teeth, your health with decline, your looks will suffer, and you just won’t feel like your old self. However, modern dentistry makes it possible to take back your life, permanently through a dental implant procedure. Read on to hear more about our dental implants, and then be sure to get in touch to schedule your adult tooth loss consultation appointment with Dr. Moores, so that we can get you smiling again.

Dental Implants 101

Here’s what you need to know: dental implants are little rods constructed from titanium that sort of look like a screw a screw. Don’t worry, that’s not the part that shows when you smile. These implants are surgically inserted into your jaw by Dr. Moores and attached to replacement “teeth” to create a stunning new grin. Once implants are inserted, they start to merge straightaway with the bone in your jaw and act as the new roots of your teeth.

The Process Is Painless

Don’t worry, even if you are extra-sensitive, we will work hard to make it a pain-free and pleasant process for you. If dental anxiety or fear of the unknown ever becomes a hurdle, sedation dentistry can be called upon to calm you down. In these instances, you will be prescribed oral medication to take just ahead of your visit to our Paradise, CA dentist’s office. This medication is supposed to make you feel comfortable enough to get through your dental procedure without any anxiety or fear whatsoever.

Dental Implants Feel Like The Real Thing

These are not like your grandpa’s false teeth. Our implants are crafted to feel like your natural teeth. The artificial tooth (i.e. dental crown) is custom-built to fit your mouth. It will be the right size, shape, and color to blend in with the rest of your smile.

Dentures Can Be Stabilized By Implants

A regular dental implant is aimed at holding just one replacement tooth in place, but mini dental implants can actually be used to hold your set of dentures in position. With implant-retained dentures, the implants have small ball-and-socket joints that the dentures connect to. Implant-supported dentures use a curved bar instead. Both can hold dentures much more securely than the traditional (and weird tasting) method of adhesive applied to the gum-colored mold.

Dental Implants Can Be Loaded Immediately

Every case is different. But if you need a tooth extraction, for instance, Dr. Moores can occasionally place a dental implant (or dentures that connect to mini implants) immediately thereafter. Still, not every patient is a good candidate for immediate placement.

This Is A Permanent Solution

Our dental implants are designed to last a long time but they will require some upkeep, just like your real teeth. Brushing twice a day for two or more minutes, flossing and rinsing regularly, and visiting the dentist every three to six months will keep you on the good road.

Find Out If They Are The Best Bet For You

If you are in good health overall and your jaw bone is thick and tall enough to support an implant, we might be able to make it happen for you. But you will have to come in for an evaluation first.

While you are here for your adult tooth loss consultation, Dr. Moores will evaluate your mouth and jaw and determine the best way to restore your missing teeth.
